DESCRIPTION: A remarkable wood known for its beauty, strength & tenacity. The color & grain characteristics are enhanced with occasional defects, ingrown bark & mineral streaks. The reddish-brown color revealed when a finish is applied gives & exceptionally distinctive appearance to wood cut parallel to the grain. The end grain cut has its own beautiful personality of rich brown patterns. COLOR: Fresh cut mesquite will range in color from a blonde, to light brown to dark reddish brown. Will darken in color as UV light interacts with the exposed surface giving it a more uniform rich mahogany color over time.
GRAIN: High in character, with ingrown bark & mineral streaks.
FINISHING: Finishes very well.
CHARACTERISTICS: Is a domestic hardwood that is considerably more stable, more dense & harder than most other hardwoods. Is also an environmentally friendly renewable resource.
